Office Volunteer(s)

Reporting to the Office Manager, the office volunteers will be working from the office either on a regular or one off basis. This role has a flexible approach regarding the number of hours spent in the office and will be carrying out mainly administrative tasks. Main responsibilities will be:

Updating databases
Ÿ
Sending out our information to Governing bodies, schools, 6th Forms , Colleges, Universities, Sports companies, Mosques, Community Groups, Sports Clubs, Local Councils
Ÿ
Widening contacts
Ÿ
Sourcing sponsorship / venues as per Office Manager’s requirements
Ÿ
Make a database of organisations we have contacted
Ÿ
Add MWSF to Wikipedia
Ÿ
Add MWSF events to website forums
Ÿ
Contact female community groups across the country
Ÿ
Assist with research project questionnaire – contact Muslim groups in 12 key areas: Bradford, Blackburn, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, London, Luton, Manchester, Walsall
Research Assistant(s)

Reporting to and assisting the research co-ordinator, the main responsibilities for this role will be to:

Distribute and collect questionnaires
Ÿ
Visit community groups with questionnaires
Ÿ
Input hard questionnaires onto website for analysis
Ÿ
Promote the survey to people and groups via email
Community Officer(s)

There are several openings for the community officer position, all will report to the Office Manager. The Community Officers’ main role will be to raise awareness of the foundation by visiting community groups / centres and introducing MWSF and what we do. You will be expected to make at least two visits to local community groups / centres per month. Main responsibilities will be to:

Managing stalls at events
Ÿ
Recruit new members
Ÿ
Recruit new volunteers
Social Officer
Reporting to the Office Manager and the National Membership Manager (NMM), the social officer will co-ordinate social events throughout the year. Their main responsibilities will be to:
Ÿ
Organise one large team building volunteers event per year eg, camping, canoeing, skiing etc
Ÿ
Liaise with and assist team captains
Ÿ
Ensure that team captains are organising two social events per year
Ÿ
Organise one fund raising event per year
Awards Volunteer(s)

The MWSF hold an annual awards night with the 2011 awards night also being the 10th anniversary of the organisation. Reporting to the Awards Co-ordinator, the main responsibilities of this role will be to:

Ÿ
Assist the Awards Co-ordinator in any tasks related to the awards night, tasks including liaising with venues, photographers, caterers, performers, judges etc
Ÿ
Put together gift bags
Ÿ
Put together and produce a programme of events
Ÿ
Assist the Awards Co-ordinator with the MWSF exhibition
Ÿ
Create a list of potential sponsors / partners
Ÿ
Collect and sort nominations
Ÿ
Send out invitations and chase up responses
Awards DVD Co-ordinator

Reporting to Awards Co-ordinator, the DVD producer will have a vital role in the 10th anniversary celebration awards night in providing footage for both the awards ceremony and the interactive exhibition. Main responsibilities will be:

To record and produce two, one minute video clips highlighting the awards
Ÿ
To record and produce a video to highlight the MWSF, including sports sessions and community work
Ÿ
To interview MWSF members and employees
Ÿ
To liaise with the exhibition assistant
Awards Exhibition Assistant

The awards exhibition assistant will report to and assist the Awards Co-ordinator in creating and producing an interactive exhibition celebrating the work of the MWSF for the last 10 years to be displayed at the awards evening.
News Editor

Reporting to the Publicity Co-ordinator, the news editor will edit and produce the MWSF newsletter on a quarterly basis which is sent out across the UK to various organisations sports bodies, companies, influential figures, members and interested parties. The main responsibilities will be to:

Collate and put together newsletter – quarterly
Ÿ
Chase people for articles and photos
Ÿ
Work with the writers
Writers / Interviewers

Dynamic and enthusiastic writers are required to produced articles and interviews for the newsletter and website. The writes will work closely with the news editor and will report to Publicity Co-ordinator. The main responsibilities will be to:

Write articles for the website and newsletter – information will be given from the sports co-ordinator and publicity co-ordinator
Ÿ
Interview various people for the website and newsletter
Ÿ
Bring match reports up to standard
Ÿ
Liaise with the News Editor
Membership Officer(s)

Each sports team will have a membership officer who will report to the National Membership Manager (NMM). The membership officer will attend sessions every week. Their responsibilities will be to:

Ÿ
Keep a register  and update it online within 2 days of each session
Ÿ
Inform the NMM if a member has not attended for 3 weeks in a row
Ÿ
Give out membership forms and ensure they
Ÿ
Take money at sessions –issuing an MWSF receipt (provided by the office)
Ÿ
Maintain the receipt book and return to the office at the end of each month
Ÿ
Deposit monies once per month – you will be given the account details
Ÿ
Keep the NMM updated of any issues arising
Ÿ
Inform the office if any sessions are going to be cancelled at least two weeks in advance
Ÿ
Email the retention officer with contact details of new attendees within two days of their first session (copy in the NMM)
Team Captain(s)

Each sports team will have a team captain who will report to the office manager. The team captain will attend and take part in sessions every week. Their responsibilities will be to:

Be an example to the team!  (be early for training)
Ÿ
Encourage the team to attend on time
Ÿ
Encourage the team & boost motivation
Ÿ
Distribute and collect kit on match days
Ÿ
Ensure all the correct number of balls are in the bag at the end of each session / match
Ÿ
Organise at least two social events per year for their team (cinema, eating out, bowling etc)
Event Day Volunteer(s)

Event day volunteers are required to assist in the smooth running of various events that we run including leagues, tournaments, taster sessions, fun sessions and awards events. Reporting to Sports Co-ordinator, the main responsibilities will be to:

Ÿ
Attend MWSF events and carry out various jobs to help the day run smoothly including setting up venues, organising gift bags, food
Ÿ
Manage registration tables
Ÿ
Distribute leaflets and display posters
