Team GB
The MWSF is the official UK body for the International Women’s Islamic Games, held in Iran. Like the Olympics, these Games take place once every 4 years and are held in an all female environment. Great Britain was the first non-Muslim country to be represented at these games in 2001. We select and provide training for the Great Britain Muslim Women's team who will represent at the next International Women's Islamic Games. To keep up to date with the selection process check this website for updates and register your interest in trying out through the contact us page.
GB 2001
In 2001 we represented Great Britain for the first time in the games. We quickly realised how competitive and advanced the other teams were. Our games were hard and we realised that we had a lot of work to do on our fitness - these girls were serious about sport!
Our first visit to the games was an amazing experience and we came away from it determined to improve and return as a stronger and more competitive team.

This year's games was postponed as it coincided with another international sporting competition.
GB 2005
In 2005 we travelled to Iran and stayed in a 5* hotel courtesy of the International Women's Islamic Games and competed along side over 1,500 female athletes from 39 different countries around the world. Our games took place in crowded arena's packed with thousands of women.
“ I had the time of my life. The standard of the competition was really high and I learned a lot from playing against very experienced players. I also met loads of women who really inspired me and made me want to get better. ”
